Pregnancy Apps I Use
Itβs 2022; there's an app for everything. You can shop, order food, book a trip, check the weather, pay your bills, and stay connected all on your phone. So I'm sure it comes as no surprise that they have apps for pregnancy too!
As a first-time mom, and this being my first pregnancy I feel pretty clueless at times. That's why having apps that share facts on the stages I'm, and the symptoms I might experience is super helpful.
Before I even got pregnant I was using an app called Flo to track my cycles. Once I got pregnant, instead of logging a start date for my period, I updated the app to say I tested positive. From there it changed into a week-by-week pregnancy tracker, sharing an image of what my babe looks like and allowing me to track my symptoms. Admittedly, I don't love the pregnancy updates on this app but found it excellent when tracking my cycle.
In terms of pregnancy-specific apps, here are my favs:
What to Expect - This app tracks your pregnancy week-by-week and shares updates on the approximate fetus size compared to fruit. You can also find relevant weekly videos and blog posts to help educate and inform you on a variety of topics. These range from the symptoms you may experience, or what to expect that week, I've even seen a video on the baby registry must-haves.
Pregnancy+ - The main reason I have this app is for the lifelike animations it shows of your baby each week. These graphics really help you to visualize what changes and developments your babe is making and gives you a clear idea of how things are progressing. You'll only find two to three facts on what is happening each week, but it's worth downloading just for the animations.
Ovia Pregnancy β This app tracks your pregnancy week-by-week, similarly to What to Expect, and shares updates on the approximate fetus size. The main difference and reason I use both are with Ovia, I can choose a comparison that's not fruit. Some of the other fun options are animals, baked goods or even games. I like being able to have multiple visuals. You'll also find a comparison to the size of your baby's hand & foot now vs the size it will likely be at birth, vitamin, weight and mental health tracking, growth & development for mom and babe, and what you can expect to happen to your body.
With my due date growing closer, are there any parenting apps you guys love or reccomend? Let me know below.
